London: Muslim councillor faces death threats over Western dress A SECULAR Muslim woman councillor has been forced to dress more conservatively after receiving death threats and sexually harassing phone calls from members of her own community. Shiria Khatun, 38, has called in the police over the sinister calls in which threats were made not only against her, but also her four young children. In one they warned they would dig up parents’ graves and bury her there instead.

Cabin crew on the plane said the suspect, a British man resident in Stockholm, had been attempting to secretly film security procedures on board a flight that left Stansted in London on Monday night.

National identification among Muslims Update: Forgot to post this.. “Most important national values of living in the country” There’s generally agreement among Muslims and non-Muslims on the various values, but they diverge on the following: Respect for the law – Muslims 64.3%, non-Muslims 54.0% Tolerance towards others – Muslims 37.4%, non-Muslims 49.9% Freedom of speech and expression – Muslims 49.5%, non-Muslims 61.5% Respect for all faiths – Muslims 51.6%, non-Muslims 29.1% It’s interesting that non-Muslims put an emphasis on tolerance, while Muslims put an emphasis on respect. ————- The Open Society Institute (OSI) recently published their study of Muslims in Europe , focusing on 11 cities.

London: Tablighi Jamaat mosque plans on hold Controversial plans to build Europe’s biggest mosque close to the London Olympics site have been halted, The Times has learnt. Tablighi Jamaat, the Islamic sect behind the proposal, is to be evicted this week from the East London site, where it has been operating illegally a temporary mosque and had planned a complex that would accommodate 12,000 worshippers.
