Moscow: High-ranking Interior Ministry officials suspected of extortion from Muslim community

Federal Security Service officials have submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office materials stating that several high-ranking officials from the Interior Ministry’s Main Department for the Prevention of Extremism extorted a large amount of money from a Moscow Muslim community, Kommersant daily reports.

“The Federal Security Service officers obtained information that a major extortion incident had occurred in the Moscow Lefortovsky market before the New year holidays. According to that information, a group of police officers went to the market under the pretext of an inspection, suspended the market’s operation and demanded 1 million rubles from traders for permission to resume work,” Kommersant writes.

According to Kommersant, the police said they were checking reports stating that there was an illegal extremist center disguised as a prayer room at the market, which was visited by Muslim traders and Tajik workers from nearby construction sites.

Ukraine: Newspaper depicts Africans and Arabs as monkeys groping woman

A local newspaper in the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil illustrated its front-page story on Tuesday with a photomontage of monkeys groping a woman to depict African and Arab men who had allegedly gotten into a bar fight. Our Observer, a Congolese student living in Ternopil, tells us this has deeply upset African students at his university, who he says are frequently the target of racist attacks.

Nova Ternopil’s article explains that police had to intervene after an African man and an Arab man got into a fight involving a woman at a local bar on the weekend. The headline reads, “Arabs and negroes fight over our prostitutes.” The photomontage shows two monkeys groping a white woman in the foreground. In the background, a group of black men are sitting around a table, having a drink. According to our Observer, the men pictured are students at a local university and had nothing to do with the alleged incident.

Denmark: Danish People’s Party wants full stop to Muslim immigration

The Danish People’s Party (DPP) wants to put a stop to immigration from Muslim countries, according to a new press release by the party. The party says Muslims don’t integrate and cause big problems with shariah zones, parallel societies and social control.

The announcement followed the release of marriage figures for immigrant groups. According to the new figures, just 20% of non-Western 2nd generation immigrants marry Danes. Among Pakistanis and Turks the figures are less than 10%.

“We must work towards bringing down the immigration from Muslim countries to zero. There can naturally be some exceptions, but there’s a need for political ambition to bring Muslim immigration close to zero,” says the party’s integration spokesperson Martin Henriksen.

“The 24-year old rule is now no longer enough. We have to deal with people who consciously decide to opt out of marrying Danes. It’s problematic. If we are to hope these families will be integrated in the future, we must introduce new and significant restrictions on immigration from Muslim countries,” says Henriksen.

By stopping immigration from Muslim countries, the Danish People’s Party hopes to stop the influx into the parallel societies, and eventually dissolve them.

“It will increase the possibility that young people will be able to break out of the parallel societies,” says Martin Henriksen.

Q: what is the figures are because people fall in love with people they have more in common with?

“Naturally there are those somebody with Turkish background who fall in love with others of Turkish background. But it’s well known that Muslim communities are very skeptical of – and look down on – if, for example, a girl goes out with a Danish boy or man. It can lead to sanctions and we should end that,” says Henriksen.

The DPP wants to stop Muslim immigration by stopping the new government’s rollback of the point system, tightening asylum laws and giving priority to Western labor immigration.

Surrey: girl attacked for wearing headscarf

A race attack in Surrey on an 11-year-old girl will be the focus of community talks in Sunbury-on-Thames.

The girl was attacked by older white girls who kicked her, pushed her to the ground and drew on her face.

Surrey Police said it seemed the girl had been targeted on 11 January because she was wearing a headscarf.

Norway: Lawyer calls to stop ‘Islam’s incursion into Europe’

Prominent lawyer Brynjar Østgård wants to stop Islam in Norway and thinks Islam threatens Norwegian culture and social order.

“It’s difficult to find a Muslim-dominated country with the same social order we have. Think of values like democracy, freedom of speech and rule of law,” Brynjar Østgård told Nordlys.

The lawyer is a former judge in the Hålogaland court of appeals and is on the board of the Hålogaland theater.

On Thursday he posted the following on his Facebook profile:

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Islam’s incursion into Europe must be stopped – NOW! The talk and half-blind naivety must stop: we must think LONG TERM, or else the civilization that has taken 2000 years to build in Europe will be destroyed. WHEN did our government get the mandate from the people to throw away our culture, our home and our future? I know such a mandate was never given. (Just so it’s clear: you can’t really distinguish between Islam and Islamism – one follows the other)”

The post was written as a comment to an opinion article “Islam is taking hold” by the controversial Hege Storhaug, head of Human Rights Service.

Østgård doesn’t think his points of view are extreme, and denies it has anything to do with racism.

“There’s a difference between wanting a culture not to be threatened, put under pressure and disappear – and to disparage other people.

Q: Aren’t you really generalizing?

A: I don’t intend my words to be construed as casting suspicion on individuals, says the lawyer but adds: “But I think that Islam is a religion which interferes with thought processes and social order which we do not want.”

Østgård thinks Norwegian immigration policies should be much stricter. “I have no other prescription.”

Sweden: ‘Your baby looks like Saddam Hussein’

An administrator at the Swedish Migration Board (Migrationsverket) is facing disciplinary action after telling a family of Iraqi asylum seekers that their newborn baby looked like Saddam Hussein.

The man, who has worked at the agency for 30 years, is also under investigation for physically assaulting a female colleague and making derogatory remarks about a woman wearing a headscarf.

Flanders: 53% don’t want Muslim doctor

53% of the Flemish prefer not having a Muslim family doctor. 40% prefer a White doctor. 22% said they prefer not being treated by a gay doctor.

The survey was conducted last November by the GfK Significant agency for Vitaya magazine. A thousand Flemish ages 20-70 were asked about their relationship with their family doctor.

London: Fifteen arrested after EDL supporters clash with locals

Police have arrested 15 people after violence between far-right activists and local youths outside a mosque in east London.

Witnesses said the clash near the East London Mosque in Whitechapel erupted after supporters of the English Defence League chanted anti-Muslim slogans. Scotland Yard said one man was injured and taken to hospital with “non life-threatening injuries”.

“The incident involved several hundred people,” a police spokesman said. “Bottles and other items were thrown.”

Netherlands: PVV in Limburg under fire over ’sicked-up halal meat’ comment

The anti-Islam PVV in Limburg is again under fire after one provincial councillor described a Labour party colleague as ‘a piece of sicked-up halal meat made from a Turkish pig’.

The comment was made by PVV number two Cor Bosman in an email to 20 supporters after Labour councillor Selçuk Öztürk gave an interview to a local magazine, the Eindhovens Dagblad reports.

UK: Judge critical of sentencing powers for anti-Muslim comments

A judge said it was “quite staggering” that he could only impose a fine on a former soldier who admitted making racist remarks about Muslims.

John Parkin, 26, from Rhyl, said he wanted to “shoot Muslims in the head” and admitted being a racist.

Judge Niclas Parry jailed Parkin for 10 months for breaching an earlier suspended sentence.

But he said he could only fine Parkin for charges of religiously aggravated public order offences against Muslims.
